At Early Birds, each child is known, valued, nurtured and encouraged to develop their own unique character so that they can appreciate how special they are and become confident and happy individuals.

We recognise the importance of our partnership with parents and know that where parents and early learning settings work closely together, children do better. Parents are their child’s first and enduring educators and they understand their child better than anyone else. We want to share that knowledge, to ensure that their child has the best possible pre-school experience.

The staff are dedicated to helping each child to achieve and thrive during their time in the setting. The staff are mature and experienced and recognise that we are all lifelong learners, consequently they continue to seek training to develop their own skills and knowledge to benefit the children.

As a group we pride ourselves on creating a safe, warm, friendly, happy, stimulating, bright and exciting environment where children are eager to become involved in learning and are enabled to develop their own ideas and interests, having their imaginations fed and fired! Every day at Early Birds there are opportunities for staff and children to inspire each other and learn together.

You can read a full copy of our Ofsted reports online by clicking on the logo below to view or download a copy of the May 2019 "Outstanding" report.   A brief excerpt reads as follows:

  • The manager and staff have exceptional knowledge of early years teaching combined with a shared vision for excellence. Children make rapid progress in their learning.

  • The outside area has an array of activities to choose from.

  • All the natural resources and materials are thoughtfully arranged with excellent attention to detail.

  • Staff engage and highly motivate children with their dedication and enthusiasm for teaching.

  • The manager and staff go way beyond expectations to provide a positive learning environment for children. This significantly contributes to children's wellbeing and their love of learning.

  • Children's safety and well-being is given the highest priority. Senior staff continuously evaluate all procedures to protect children from potential risk.

  • The Pre-school promotes a totally 'child-centred environment'. All children, including those with special educational needs and those who speak English as an additional language, make excellent progress from their starting points.

  • Staff form strong partnerships with parents. Parents feel well informed and comment on how the manager and her staff are so helpful, kind and caring and how well their children are learning and developing. One parent described the Pre-school as 'magical'.
