The staff are dedicated to helping each child to achieve and thrive during their time in the setting. They are mature and experienced and recognise that we are all lifelong learners, consequently they continue to seek training to develop their own skills and knowledge to benefit the children. Our staff share our vision of creating an environment which is a "home from home" family orientated setting.

The fact that all staff have significant experience of working with pre-school children at the setting shows that they also really enjoy their work and the adventure of learning alongside children. Our staff are excellent and have a genuine passion to develop the lives and experiences of all children they meet.

The Manager is Emily Teese and the current "Acting" Deputy Manager is Lesley Reed. The staff at Early Birds Pre-School value the interaction with the children, and have a key person system which means that they are able to

  • give time and attention to each child

  • talk with the children about their interests and activities

  • help children to experience and benefit from the activities we provide

  • support spontaneous unplanned activities

  • allow the children to explore and be adventurous in safety

  • work effectively in partnership with our families to ensure that we are working cohesively in ensuring your child can reach their potential.

Our membership of the Early Years Alliance, close contact with Ofsted and East Sussex Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership ensures that we are kept constantly in touch with new thinking and best practice in the field of early years care and education.

We have a strong commitment to the continual improvement of Early Birds through staff development, training and self-evaluation. As well as gaining qualifications in early years care and education, the staff access a range of on-going training courses, workshops and in-house training to help them keep up to date with thinking about early years care and education, and to provide ideas and inspiration for new activities.
